Impossible Booty Standards

We all know the Kardashian's and Jenner's rule social media. They're known for their luxurious houses, cars, closets but most importantly their bodies. They create these impossible life and body standards that we cannot live up too.

Not only do these women create body standards that we cannot live up too, but they claim that the bodies are real and they use those bodies too create a profit for themselves.

Let's start with the youngest of the sisters, Kylie Jenner. According to Life and Style magazine, at just 17 is when Kylie got lip fillers. Getting lip fillers at such a young age allows for other females of such a young age to believe that they need lip fillers as well. For the first few months after getting the lip fillers she didn't admit to getting them, but finally after her sisters convinced her it was better to just come out and tell the truth, she did. We could continue about how everyone is talking about how Kylie has had work on her butt, waist and boobs but those are bringing her millions like her lips are. Kylie launched cosmetic line in 2016 that has become an empire. Since the first launch of her cosmetic line she has had her website crash due to having to many people on at once, almost al products sell out after minutes, and she has now opened two Kylie Cosmetic stores. In my opinion, if Kylie hadn't gotten her lips done I truly don't believe her cosmetic line would be so successful. Although Kylie already has the advantage of being famous to sell her products, I don't think she would've been so successful without plump lips. Kylie's cosmetic line started with lip kits, the way she promoted those lips kits was by posting pictures of her wearing the lip kits. Now if Kylie had "no lips" instead of plump lips would she actually have the empire she has today?

Khloe Kardashian went from being the "fat' sister to the "fit sister." Now Khloe was never "fat" but of course the media didn't think that. Khloe is now promoting her show "Revenge Body". Yes, Khloe has come a long way but there are certain things that don't make sense to me. Khloe works out on a daily basis even multiple times a day with the best personal trainers around. If you've ever been to a gym and talked to a trainer you know prices range anywhere from $40-$150 an hour. Those are just prices for trainers at the gym, so imagine what the Kardashian's are paying to have top of the line trainers come to their homes to train. Of course to these women this is pocket change but not too everyone else. So to promote fitness the way she does is almost a joke. Let's not forget about her booty work outs as if her booty was totally natural. Khloe has also created a denim line called "Good American." Good American was created for women of all sizes. Which I love, but if Khloe didn't have a large booty would her line actually get the attention of women with larger bottoms? I don't think so.

The Kardashian's and Jenner's rule social media. They have millions of follower on Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. They have millions of people constantly saying negative things about them and their bodies. They have so much pressure too look good that in a way you can understand why they do so much to there bodies. But its a visicous cycle. The more people hate on their bodies, the more pressure these women feel to look perfect therefore creating these body images that we cannot live up too.

  1. I totally agree that beauty standards set by these women are not really real and truthful but the emerging of instagram's popularity has brought out women and their bodies more than before. With so many varieties of ages on this social website, especially young girls, it's important to watch out for these types of messages to encourage them to be okay with who they are. People sometimes credit the Kardashian's for giving women with bigger butts a sense of feeling that it's okay to have thighs but if you look at the Kardashian sisters they do everything they can to look like they don't have any excess fat or skin anywhere. They even encourage getting rid of stretch marks off their bodies when every single women has them! Though it I a good thing that women with curvier bodies are getting out into the mainstream like Ashly Graham, there are still issues about how women are portrayed and over sexualized because they have more features to look and gawk at. In conclusion, for those who struggle with acceptance of their own bodies, images of women who do not portray the majority of the women in the world don't create a feeling of welcome when they are expected to live up to a world where money can get you anything even a "perfect" body.
